From setup to the pickup counter: a practical guide to the core workflow.

Install and configure

  1. On your WordPress site, open Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and select the Pickup Ready Pro ZIP.
  2. Install and activate the plugin with WooCommerce active.
  3. Open WooCommerce → Pickup Ready Pro. Add your pickup location, address and customer instructions.
  4. If you enable reminders, choose the delay and make sure WordPress cron is running.
  5. Run a test order before using the workflow with customers.

Handle a pickup

Mark the order Ready for pickup. The plugin generates a six-digit PIN and submits the customer notification to the store’s email system. Delivery depends on the store’s mail configuration. Use Waiting for pickup to find the order, open it, enter the customer’s PIN and confirm collection. An invalid PIN is rejected; a valid PIN changes the order to Collected.

Replace a PIN

For an order that is still Ready, use PIN regeneration from the order controls. The previous PIN becomes invalid and is rejected. The replacement PIN can be used to confirm collection. The plugin submits a replacement notification to the store’s email system; inbox delivery is not guaranteed.

Email and reminder checks

Check the customer’s email address, the order notes and your store’s email delivery configuration. Reminders depend on WordPress cron and only apply while the order is eligible for pickup. An accepted email does not guarantee inbox delivery. In version 0.3.0, reminder functionality was checked through static code validation; actual delayed reminder execution and email delivery were not runtime-verified. Reminders require working WP-Cron.

Compatibility

Pickup Ready Pro 0.3.0 was runtime-tested with WordPress 6.9.1, WooCommerce 10.8.1 and PHP 8.4.25. The verified core workflow covered Ready for pickup, six-digit PIN generation, invalid PIN rejection, valid PIN verification leading to Collected, PIN regeneration, old PIN invalidation, replacement PIN acceptance and Waiting for pickup. The plugin declares HPOS compatibility. These facts do not establish testing or compatibility for other version combinations or environments.
